During Tokyo Game Show 2023, Naoki Yoshida, Producer and Director of Final Fantasy XIV, has shared many surprises and information of the last Endwalker Patch 6.5, which will be divided into three parts, each with different content and release dates:

Patch 6.5 will air on Tuesday 3rd October 2023 and will include:

The Main Scenario Part 1

The last Alliance raid for Endwalker, Thaleia

An amazing Dungeon: The Lunar Subterrane

The last Trial: The Abyssal Fracture and The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme)

A brand new Unreal Trial: The Singularity Reactor (Unreal)

Duty Support will be available for all main scenario dungeons from a Realm Reborn through Endwalker.

Job Adjustments for PvP and PvE: damage output balance between jobs within each role will be adjusted, as well as increased potency of certain job actions.

Island Sanctuary Updates: New ranks, visions, and gathering area in the wilds. Fresh Crops, Isleworks handicrafts, animals, structures and more will also be included. Additionally, Felicitous Favors will be introduced. Those are requests that players can complete for exclusive rewards.

Patch 6.51 will air in late October 2023 and will contain the following updates:

New Criteria Dungeon: Aloalo Island. In response to feedback, the FFXIV team is working on new rewards for savage mode. Those will be useful in increasing item level.

PvP Updates: New Arena – The Red Sands, as well as UI and Mini Map adjustments.

Endwalker Tribal Alliance Quest. Note that this requires completion of the Arkasodara, Omicron and Loporrit tribal quests

Miscellaneous Updates

Additionally, there are some miscellaneous updates coming with patch 6.5x:

Fresh custom deliveries: Margrat

Green dot indicators on newly logged fish in the fish guide

Ability to store optional items in the armoire

Final reward for obtaining all Trial Mounts in the 6.x patch series

Item level restrictions for Duty Roulette: Alliance Raid based on level 

EXP and Allagan Tomestone rewards for each alliance raid adjusted according to difficulty and time required for completion

New Gear, Glam, Housing Furniture, Mounts and Minions, such as a UFO Mount!

In the interest of expanding the server infrastructure options in the future, the use of cloud data centers is under consideration from the FFXIV team. A North American Cloud data center will be temporarily implemented for the purposes of a public stress test, to be held during the 6.5x patch series. This data center selection screen will display the cloud DC as an option upon 6.5’s release, and it will be accessible once the test commences. 

Further details regarding the cloud data center stress test will be revealed at a later date on the Lodestone.

Free trial is expanding to level 70 in two weeks: new players can enjoy the game for free until Stormblood!

Live Gameplay Demo

Naoki Yoshida played through some brand new upcoming content and showed fans what awaits them: 

The Abyssal Fracture. A new trial that pits players against a mysterious enemy. Yoshida demonstrated some mechanics and phases of the fight, as well as the stunning visuals and music.

Thaleia, the last raid that concludes the Alliance story. Yoshida showed some of the bosses and environments of the raid, as well as some hints about the lore and secrets behind it.

PvP Updates

Yoshi-P also revealed some PvP updates, such as a new arena called The Red Sands, and played through it to demonstrate the new features and mechanics:

Additionally, PvP will also receive the following UI adjustments:

New settings to permanently display the affiliated team to the left of the Minimap and/or HUD, as well as new lines on the field that indicate the “comeback point” (this means how far the losing team must progress to turn the tides).

A countdown timer will be able to be displayed ten seconds prior to commencement of overtime Enhanced Progress Gauge.

Effects for certain actions, pets, ect. will be adjusted to indicate ally vs. enemy.

New PvP rewards, such as gear, will also be added.

Upcoming Events

Finally, the FFXIV team gave information on the next livestreams and events:

Patch note reading will be held on Monday 2 October at 4am PDT/11h GMT/22h AEDT, where Yoshida will discuss 6.5 patch note details during the maintenance (be aware that the audio will be in Japanese only).

Next Fan Festivals will be held on the 21-22 October 2023 at ExCeL in London and 7-8 January 2024 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo.

FFXIV 10th Anniversary Fireworks and Music show will be held in Chiba Makuhari Seaside Park, Makuhari no Hama Tokutetsu Kaijo, on Friday November 3rd 2023. Pre-orders for Kanto Region Event are now possible on the official Miraino Hanabi website

Patch 6.5 will be the final patch for Endwalker, and will conclude the current story, as well as introduce Warriors of Light to a new adventure. It will also bring new challenges and rewards for players of all levels.
