Here we are as both US and EU guilds had a day to head into Aberrus and we can get some (very preliminary) data from their logs – Heroic logs that is, as only the first three bosses have seen any action in Mythic (which you can read about in our daily summary here).

Heroic

Overall Damage 95th Percentile

Comparing things to the previous logs we had is going to be pretty pointless, as those were for the Vault and for Mythic, so let’s just take a very general look at what’s up and what’s down. We won’t be peering into Mythic for a while yet, so here goes Heroic! Also to note, we can’t be sure what percentage of players have tier set bonuses active, but it’s safe to assume there’s more of them here in the 95th percentile than in the overall brackets.

Destruction is back on top, which is definitely the biggest change here, as Unholy did not go away, even after their favorite trinket got nerfed, only dropping to 2nd after dominating the last few weeks of the Vault. Arcane sticks around and is doing well in Aberrus just as it did in the Vault after the 10.1 tuning, as Subtletly also jumps up a lot and straight into 4th. Devastation is still hanging around the top, although it’s dropped from its Vault heyday, while Marksmanship has been pretty stable around the top 5 mark throughout the expansion so far. The Shamans are both doing well, sandwiching Shadow and closing out the top 10 with the aid of Outlaw. Frost DKs suffer the biggest switcheroo in the high percentiles, as they drop from the top 3 to the literal last spot. Beast Mastery still can’t catch a break and together with the DK and Fury forms the bottom 3.

Overall Damage All Percentiles

Destruction is not a top-player-only beast it seems, as it sits on top in the generalist bracket as well. Unholy, on the other hand, is a few spots down compared to the top percentiles, as both Subtletly and Arcane get past it. Assassination is preferred over Outlaw here, as Retribution also finds itself high up in the rankings, beating out Devastation and Arms. Survival is doing well too, closing out the top 10 and giving non-Marksmanship Hunters hope! The bottom is still filled by Frost DK and Beast Mastery, but it’s Demonology that joins them here in the generalist bracket.

Boss Only Damage All Percentiles

Unholy remains at the top in the boss damage department, and is joined by Arcane, as both specs seem to shine in both AoE and single target. Assassination has always been high up in these charts and Destruction also looks like one of the cross-over specs, doing well all-round. In fact, the entire top 10 looks fairly similar to the overall damage profile, so perhaps Aberrus isn’t much of an AoE-heavy raid, at least when it comes to Heroic.

Normal

We’re also taking a look at Normal, since even Heroic doesn’t have the log numbers it used to, with only a (relatively) few guilds even downing the final boss. Arcane is on top here, just ahead of Destruction, and the rest of the specs pretty much align with the Heroic rankings, although they’re fairly shuffled around. Shamans only seem to be doing well in high percentiles, however, as they are down both here and in the Heroic all damage percentile charts.
