Final Fantasy 16 is coming soon, and you can pre-download it now on your PS5. Here’s how to do it, and why you should also play the demo before release.

Final Fantasy 16, the highly anticipated installment of the beloved Final Fantasy franchise, is set to release in just a few days on June 22nd. However, players will have the opportunity to pre-download the game. Here’s how and when you can do it:

For those who have pre-ordered the digital version of Final Fantasy 16, pre-downloading will be available on their console starting from around midnight on June 20th (Europe time).

To pre-download the game, follow these steps:

If you haven’t already, pre-order the game from the PlayStation Store.

Navigate to the library on the main screen of your PlayStation 5.

Locate Final Fantasy 16 in your library.

Check the countdown for the pre-download and ensure that you have enabled automatic pre-download when available.

Click “OK” and make sure to keep your console in sleep mode or turned on with the option to allow downloads during sleep mode. This way, the game can automatically pre-download even if you are not actively using your console. Alternatively, you can manually pre-download the game once it becomes available if you prefer to have your console powered off.

In the meantime, if you have not tried it yet, you can play the available demo of the game, which includes the first few hours of gameplay. Any progress made in the demo can be saved and transferred into the full game upon release, saving you from replaying the beginning.

Upon its release, Final Fantasy 16 will occupy a total file size of just over 90GB on the PlayStation 5. It is important to note that this size may expand in the following months due to upcoming updates.
