Elemental Lariat‘s unique proc makes the amulet Best-in-Slot for many classes. It is created by Jewelcrafters in Dragonflight. In this post, we explain the proc and how to get it.

Why Makes Elemental Lariat Unique?

It has a unique proc which differ depending on your socketed gems and you can put 3 sockets in it with Tiered Medallion Setting.

How to Obtain the Pattern

The trickiest part about the amulet is obtaining the pattern. It has a very low chance to drop from Primal Storms in Dragonflight. Therefore, you must grind active Primal Storm locations and hope for Design: Elemental Lariat to drop.

Elemental Gems in Dragonflight

Before we explain how the proc works, we first need to go over Elemental Gems. There are four rare types of Elemental Gems in Dragonflight that you socket into gear: air gems, earth gems, fire, and frost gems.

Elemental Lariat Proc

Elemental Lariat – Your spells and abilities have a chance to empower one of your socketed elemental gems, granting 0 of their associated stat for 12 sec. (Approximately 2 procs per minute)

As the tooltip indicates, the amulet proc will periodically grant you 447 Haste/Mastery/Critical Strike/Versatility for 12 seconds, depending on the gem type you have socketed in any of the armor slots. The buffs won’t work with Primalist gems. In our specific scenario, we’ll be working with Rank 3 gems Elemental gems.

Air Gems in Dragonflight

With a socketed Air Gem, the Elemental Lariat proc will grant you Haste for 12 seconds. The following gems will activate the Haste proc:

Quick Ysemerald +88 Haste

Keen Neltharite +70 Mastery and +33 Haste

Crafty Alexstraszite +70 Critical Strike and +33 Haste

Energized Malygite +70 Versatility and +33 Haste

Forceful Nozdorite +102 Stamina and +33 Haste

Earth Gems in Dragonflight

With a socketed Earth Gem, the Elemental Lariat proc will grant you Mastery for 12 seconds. Here is a list of Earth Gems that will trigger the Mastery proc:

Fractured Neltharite +88 Mastery

Keen Ysemerald +70 Haste and +33 Mastery

Sensei’s Alexstraszite +70 Critical Strike and +33 Mastery

Puissant Nozdorite +102 Stamina and +33 Mastery

Zen Malygite +70 Versatility and +33 Mastery

Fire Gems in Dragonflight

With a socketed Fire Gem, the Elemental Lariat proc will increase your Critical Strike for 12 seconds. You will need to have one of the following gems socketed to active the Critical Strike chance proc:

Radiant Malygite +70 Versatility and +33 Critical Strike

Crafty Ysemerald +70 Haste and +33 Critical Strike

Deadly Alexstraszite +88 Critical Strike

Jagged Nozdorite +102 Stamina and +33 Critical Strike

Sensei’s Neltharite +70 Mastery and +33 Critical Strike

Frost Gems in Dragonflight

With a socketed Frost Gem, the Elemental Lariat proc will grant you Versatility for 12 seconds. Frost gems that will trigger the Versatility proc include:

Stormy Malygite +88 Versatility

Zen Neltharite +70 Mastery and +33 Versatility

Radiant Alexstraszite +70 Critical Strike and +33 Versatility

Energized Ysemerald +70 Haste and +33 Versatility

Steady Nozdorite +102 Stamina and +33 Versatility

Example

Let’s assume your main stats are Haste/Mastery and you have the following gems sockets in your Elemental Lariat:

Quick Ysemerald +88 Haste — Will invoke the Haste proc.

Keen Ysemerald +70 Haste and +33 Mastery — Will invoke the Mastery proc.

Sensei’s Neltharite +70 Mastery and +33 Critical Strike – Invokes the Critical Strike proc.

This means you will periodically proc the Haste, Mastery, and Critical Strike proc, one at a time. I believe min-maxers will be able to choose gems of just one type to only trigger the desired stat proc and block the other ones from occurring (needs confirmation).
