Diving into the Myths of the Realm — Aglaia! 6.0 Spoilers beware.

Quote

Tell me, have you been to the ruins beneath the waters of the Bounty?
Or the treasure islands beyond the frozen waters of Blindfrost, in Othard’s north?
The fabled golden cities of the New World? The sacred sites of the forgotten people of the south sea isles?
What about Meracydia, the southern continent? Do you know aught of its present state of affairs?
… I thought not. Even of your little Eorzea, you know precious little. The true identities of the Twelve, for instance.

When Emet Selch prophesied of the lands unexplored by the Warrior of Light, it seemed like such blatant teasing of upcoming content, whether it would be as a raid update, side story update, or even a future expansion update.

The Myths of the Realm: Aglaia is the first of a number of stories teased by our favorite villain turned good Ascian. For those who are unaware, The Myths of the Realm is a trilogy of level 90 alliance raids scheduled to be released over the course of the Endwalker expansion. As such, it cannot be unlocked until the Endwalker main story has been completed. This may be a hurdle for players who have yet to reach that far into the story, but are interested in the story of the Twelve whose roots span all the way from the beginning of A Realm Reborn

To put it into perspective, players starting the game would have to spend 300-400 hours doing main story quests to gain access to the Twelve lore. It’s certainly a daunting prospect, as not many players may have the time or dedication to slog through so many hours of the game.

As such, we’d like to introduce Icy Lore, a weekly series that compiles everything that’s happened in the game, starting with the first installment of the level 90 alliance raid! Hopefully you’re able to gain insight on the twelve benevolent deities you are exposed to as early on as the character creation screen.

You are required to align to a deity before starting the game.

Part 1 of Aglaia will arrive on the 25th of July! In the meantime, look forward to another one of our weekly series hosted by Marauder, Icy Takes+, making its splash debut on the 24th. We have a whole lot in store for you guys, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
