Few NPC models have gone through the same amount of evolution as the three we’re taking a look at today, with many models and changes from when they were first introduced until today. LeystTV has been making these cool timeline images for Thrall, Garrosh and Anduin over on his Twitter, so let’s take a look and do some timewalking of our own!

Thrall:

Here is the evolution of Thrall.

(1 and 2 are using the HD models and not the SDR models from Vanilla. Believe it or not but the way the old models were is a bit more complicated than just m2s like the new ones. You can see the original models below)

Anduin:

The Evolution of Anduin Wrynn!

(I did not include the Vanilla one it was a generic model. – And I did not add the helm versions for the last 2 since its the same model just with the helm)

Garrosh:

Garrosh Hellscream Evolution in #worldofwarcraft

Yesterday we looked at Thrall. So, it’s only right if we take a look at Garrosh. (I’m not sure if I missed any models, but keep in mind that I did not use the SDR models for #1 & 2)

While the exclusion of Anduin’s Vanilla model is understandable, as it was just a generic child model, the lack of Garrosh’s final angry red spirit form from the Sanctum of Domiantion is a travesty and how dare you Leyst!!11 Now sure, it is actually the same model as his Pandaria one, but it’s red and transparent!! On a more serious note, it’s really great to see how the models have evolved along with the characters themselves, so big thanks to Leyst for making these.
