In a spontaneous Twitter conversation that started a short while ago, Liquid GM Max and Echo Co-CEO and raid lead Scripe got into it a very specific argument, but remained very civil and open to discussion the entire time.

After the Race to World First ended yesterday, there’s been a LOT of talk between Echo and Liquid fans, players and those following the race, mostly focusing on this tier’s length and the global release. We’ve already seen what Scripe thought of the raid yesterday, and today this very interesting chat brought the two leaders together. It all started when Max replied to a tweet from someone saying that Liquid would have “100% lost this race” if Echo were the ones starting on the US reset, and that they would be complaining just as much (Max is referring to Echo in this first tweet below):

There’s a lot to the conversation and many tweets, not only from the two guild leaders, so definitely read the whole thing if you have the time, but here are just the ones from Max and Scripe:

I think depending on how a tier goes you could certainly kill it one hour later and there would be a serious argument that you actually won. I think it depends on the context of the race, sometimes its obvious what guild was better. At the same time though when we kill a boss are…

The conversation may not be over, so we’ll be updating the post as it happens. Here’s the new ones:

funniest part is almost all of the animosity comes from the non-global release which is something neither guild wants and actively hates

And more:

That being said, removing splits alltogether is even better! can do ilvl reductions, saved on loot instead of saved on boss (like FFXIV) or smth

In any case, what do you think about this whole Aberrus Race to World First situation?
