We taking a look at the “day 1” logs (since both US and EU regions have had a shot at the post-patch tuning raid), but the Warlock shenanigans are still affecting the rankings, with two bugs that needed to be hotfixed, one arriving just today with the Corruption nerf and the other the pet buffs affecting the character itself. So it may be best to not take the Warlock stats too seriously for now. And, of course, keep in mind these are very preliminary rankings as it’s only been a few days since the patch.

Mythic

Overall Damage 95th Percentile

We’re going to pretend Affliction isn’t on top of it all, pending some more logs with the nerfs in place, so it seems Frost DK is the new No.1 of the patch, after a solid performance in No.2 before it as well! Marksmanship is significantly improved, 5 spots up, and then come the other two Warlocks which “only” benefited from the one insanely significant DPS increase bug. It is looking like Destruction is in a better place, even disregarding the bug, since it was at the literal bottom of the chart before the patch and it’s unlikely the bug carried it this high all on its own, considering how much it affected the other two specs. Arms and Subtletly remained pretty much the same if we ignore the purple weirdness, and then we have the previous No.1 and No.2 and Beast Mastery closing out the top 10. Unholy drops to last, joining Assassination which was there before, and Fury completes the bottom 3, with the Warrior having dropped a lot more than the DK.

Overall Damage All Percentiles

Marksmanship edged out Frost DK in the generalist bracket (and we’re still ignoring the Warlocks) but the top 3 has the same specs in it as the high percentiles. Beast Mastery seems like the big winner of the patch, as it finds itself up high here as well, landing in 5th from way down near the bottom. Outlaw also sees a lot of improvement, getting the better of once No.1 Shadow, and we then see some pink in the top 10 as the newly revamped Retribution aficionados get to grips with their new toys.

Heroic DPS

Heroic is even more of an Affliction fanclub, with its two bugs propelling it way above everything else, but that particular party is already over. We then see three Hunter specs dominate everything, same as they have been in Normal difficulty before, and Paladins break through right behind them! It’s all very organized here as we then see the two Rogues stick together, with Unholy doing better than Frost here, unlike in the top percentiles. Arcane drops a whole lot as it finds itself in the bottom 3, joined by frequent visitors Elemental and Devastation, which didn’t have to travel far since last week.

Normal DPS

As the Hunters take over in Heroic they lose their control in Normal, as only Beast Mastery manages to stay at the top, the green tide getting broken by the two yellows (this time Assassination instead of Subtletly). We see a class grouping again at the very bottom, as all three Mage specs decided to take it very easy for now.

We’ll be back at the start of next week with some proper numbers, and hopefully the Warlock bugs will get drowned out by some more solid data so we can see where they’re actually at, but there will probably still be traces, as those bugs provided a lot of DPS.
