  • Night Terrors is now Magic dispellable.

Nov. 16, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfix

  • Weaponmaster no longer causes Goremaw’s Bite to deal excessive damage when it activates.

Nov. 14, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfixes

This is quoted from official Blizzard hotfix notes, not datamining. (Formatting changes are ours.) Per the notes, these will take effect with the next realm maintenance.

  • Feint reduces damage taken from player cast area-of-effect spells by 30% (was 50%).
  • (All specs) Stamina has been increased by 5%.
  • Developers’ Notes: Feint’s AoE damage reduction is intended to protect Rogues during dungeon and raid encounters, but many class abilities that feel like single target spells in PvP are treated as AoE effects (e.g. Lunar Strike, Ice Nova). This makes Rogues unintentionally resistant to those abilities. We’re reducing Feint’s AoE damage reduction in PvP, but increasing Stamina to compensate.

Nov. 1, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfixes

This is quoted from official Blizzard hotfix notes, not datamining. (Formatting changes are ours.)

  • Insignia of Ravenholdt should no longer damage enemies who are out of the Rogue’s line of sight.
  • Insignia of Ravenholdt should no longer damage enemies who are vertically much higher or lower than the Rogue.

Oct. 25, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfixes

This is quoted from official Blizzard hotfix notes, not datamining. (Formatting changes are ours.)

  • Agility reduced by 10% in PvP.
  • Stamina reduced by 5% in PvP.
    • Developers’ Notes: Rogues are intended to be strong, yet vulnerable to focused-fire. We feel they have too much survivability while dealing too much damage with both utility and survivability, so we’re toning them down.
  • (Assassination) System Shock duration reduced to 2 seconds (was 4 seconds).
  • (Subtlety) Stamina reduced by 5% in PvP.
  • (Assassination, Outlaw) Stamina reduced by 15% in PvP.

Assassination

  • System Shock now properly requires an Envenom cast with 5 or more combo points.
  • System Shock’s damage has been reduced by 20%.
  • Assassination’s Agility has been reduced by 5% in PvP.
    • Developers’ Notes: The Assassination Rogue is intended to be a strong, persistent damage dealer that pressures targets but lacks the utility that Outlaw excels in or the mobility that Subtlety provides. We’ve been monitoring their damage and feel its higher than intended, and we’ve found some bugs with System Shock contributed to this. We’ve also altered their PvP template to effectively reduce their damage.

Outlaw

  • Control is King will no longer stack Adrenaline Rush above a 3 second duration.
    • Developers’ Notes: Control is King is intended to be an attractive choice for the Outlaw Rogue when within a control oriented team composition. This has worked out a bit too well. Now, subsequent procs of Control of King will no longer add to the duration, and instead will just refresh itself.

Oct. 5, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfix

This is quoted from official Blizzard hotfix notes, not datamining. (Formatting changes are ours.)

  • Shadowy Duel now prevents you from assaulting bases in Domination battlegrounds such as Arathi Basin.

  • Strike from the Shadows is now a snare, instead of a daze.

Sept. 23, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfixes

This is quoted from official Blizzard hotfix notes, not datamining. (Formatting changes are ours.) Per the notes, these will take effect with the next weekly maintenance.

Developers’ Notes: As we discussed last week, we’ve been gathering a massive amount of data based on how each spec has been performing in this first week of raids and Mythic Keystone dungeons, so that we can make a number of tuning changes with next week’s realm maintenance. The overall goal of these changes is to buff up some underperforming specs while also reining in a couple of over-performers, without dramatically changing anyone’s playstyle or causing them to feel as though the spec they chose to focus on became the “wrong choice.”

  • Death From Above (Talent) area damage increased by 100%.
  • Assassination
    • Deadly Poison damage increased by 30%.
    • Fan of Knives damage increased by 30%.

    • Eviscerate now deals 15% less damage in PvP.
    • Nightblade now deals 15% less damage in PvP.
  • Damage from Potion of the Old War and Potion of Deadly Grace reduced by 33%.
    • Developers’ Notes: Previously, we significantly buffed the damage of these potions, but then discovered some bugs that were significantly reducing their effective damage. Now that those bugs have been fixed, their damage contribution is much too high. They should still feel very rewarding to use, but we’re bringing them back down to Earth a little.

Sept. 21, 2016: Patch 7.1 Hotfixes

This is quoted from official Blizzard hotfix notes, not datamining. (Formatting changes are ours.)
